The chart shows the growth of all my competitors in the top 10 after the December update.

Competitors aren’t sitting idle.
There are also young sites taking off here. For example, competitor (2) has a massive traffic gain of 506%, starting from scratch. It is this competitor that makes me wonder: what on earth are they doing that others aren’t?
Their dynamics differ from all other sites, and I can see now that there was no major shift in the niche overall. For this, I don’t need to check whether an update occurred; it’s enough to track rankings and look at my niche myself.
The %Ptraf column is the most important for me; it shows actual traffic coming to the site, not just visibility in the top 10. That means the site ranks keywords more frequently in top 3 and top 5. Competitor has 1.94 %Ptraf, which according to Ahrefs currently shows 50k traffic.
You can apply a filter and see who popped into the top for informational pages, who is stronger on ‘best’ queries, and who climbed on long-tail or high-volume keywords.
My site ranks first in visibility growth for keywords in the niche within the TOP 10 from April to June, but doesn’t rank high enough to get decent %Ptraf.
I’ll say right away that this tool reveals itself gradually; I’ve been studying it for 3 months now and find something new every time. I haven’t come across any alternatives yet.
