A Webmaster as a Hunter, Not a Victim

Do you have insurmountable circumstances that you drag behind you like a victim?

  1. If work feels heavy, what if it went easily instead?
  2. Everyone is writing about drops, but aren’t there surges too? Gambling is dead again, but people are still driving traffic, aren’t they?

I realize that part of me also wants to play the victim—like, well, it didn’t work out, the sites didn’t grow, oh well, at least I tried…

In reality, I watch YouTube, Instagram, and occasionally catch news out of the corner of my eye—95% of which is negative.

What kind of motivation do I have after that? None at all. Maybe I actually just have too much free time?

I used to think I needed a «magic money button.» A leaked secret strategy. That’s when things would take off. I kept looking for it and feeling disappointed that nothing got leaked publicly again.

But I never considered: what if internally I feel overwhelmed by insurmountable circumstances and a victim mindset? It holds me back from moving forward, and even if you handed me that coveted button on a silver platter, I’d blow it and waste the chance for a high ROI.

Just dwelling on psychology isn’t an option either. I realized that solving tasks can actually be easy and that circumstances haven’t necessarily crushed me completely—and I got back to work.

P.S. The photo was taken right before a sandstorm hit, after which I got soaked to the skin.
