I think this topic is particularly relevant right now due to Google’s BERT algorithm updates.
How It All Started

In 2018, Terry Kyle (owner of WPX Hosting and the BlueChipBacklinks service for selecting dropped domains) launched the Monster Truck SEO course. In it, he demonstrated how great it was to generate pages without content and make money with affiliate marketing.
The core idea was that 90% of keywords are never entered a second time, which means there is a massive layer of keywords left untouched by SEOs.
He proposed generating pages and coming up with keywords like that (such as wpxhosting coupon code january 2020).
There was also a trick in domain selection, and I think that was the main point. Look: he buys a domain, then creates a page on it with a unique title—meaning he creates an ultra-long-tail keyword like best 2020 wordpress themes for photographers for january. Next, he submits this page to the bot in Google Search Console, and after the bot has crawled it, he searches for that keyword to see if the page ranked. In other words, whether the site is capable of entering the top 10 almost instantly or not.
That was how he selected target domains on which he would later generate content.
Content Generation
For content generation, there was a custom plugin and a $100/month subscription. Meaning if you wanted to use the plugin, you had to pay $100 a month. In the group, he also shared lists of domains he had found using BlueChipBacklinks.
Content generation was apparently pulled from YouTube or similar sources; some content was pulled in, but it was mostly copy-paste.
What Terry said was: Google hates copy-paste, so to avoid getting crushed by Panda, you need to rewrite the content after a while; otherwise, you’ll get dropped. Google doesn’t filter a site instantly right off the bat—it needs time to do so.
And that’s where the main headache arose. So, we build doorway pages, but what do we do with those pages afterward? Upload unique content to doorways? That was the first red flag.
Here he showed how he generated content on his site and it ranked in the top positions. I actually saw those pages.

But now according to Ahrefs, there’s silence, and these pages are gone. Here he was generating content, but then everything quieted down:

For example, enter the phrase hosting coupon code godaddy january 2020 offer or hosting coupon code wpxhosting january 2020 offer—you will see behemoths in the top ranks. Where are these small sites targeting long-tail keywords? Somewhere out there, sure…
Removing Losers
Next, he said that pages that didn’t take off needed to be deleted. Like, there’s host health, and to avoid cluttering the host, you need to get rid of waste and toxins. A sensible idea, but again we return to the question: what do you do with the pages that popped off and are currently sitting on copy-pasted content?
How to Select Dropped Domains
For initial drop selection, he advised starting with a Trust Flow metric > 10. From there, it was up to everyone’s imagination how to search further and dig deeper.
The main thing is the host’s ability to rank immediately.
And here was another idea of his: we don’t wait half a year or a year. We pump out content quickly, pick dropped domains, upload everything, and watch. Bit by bit, we sift successful sites from losers and keep churning them out, churning them out.
The Bottom Line
Well, a good deal of time has passed. This course is gone. People who were generating content have also gone quiet. I remember Andrey Kapeltsov planned to launch a large-scale experiment generating 100 million pages and even enthusiastically spoke about it at a conference, but so far all of that has quieted down and there’s nothing.
Below, I will briefly outline what Terry said, along with a few notes on ideas I wrote down for myself.
Back then, with starry eyes, I also thought I was going to get rich on this concept 🙂
