We’ve all heard that English-language websites should only be boosted with links from English-language websites. Anyone doing otherwise is just odd, because it seems illogical.
But imagine: why shouldn’t a Russian dentist be able to link to an English dentist if the latter invented something new in dentistry? And why shouldn’t Google take that into account?

According to my tests, everything is taken into account; see the screenshot above. A link was placed from a Russian website to an English one, and the keyword entered the top 10 and stayed there. You know what to do with this information.
