I dislike pettiness, but here’s a new update—the Ahrefs toolbar will consume 10 credits if I want to view the top 10 sites for a keyword on Google. One credit per site))
«or when you get SEO metrics for search results on SERPs (with the traditional 10-results SERP page, ten credits will be spent.)»
Here’s what I want to suggest—SEMRush is a pretty solid tool for keyword visibility; if you need to estimate a site’s approximate traffic, it gives decent enough data. It’s just that both Ahrefs and Semrush show estimated traffic anyway.
And if you don’t need to spend credits, why pay more?
Sorry, I sneezed—a credit was already deducted from the account, all good.
When it comes to links, there are no alternatives yet—Ahrefs is indispensable here.
Semrush has a feature: seeing exactly which keywords were ranking in the top positions several years ago. This is a great feature, especially when you need to check if a domain was abused. If there was a traffic spike, it’s suspicious—and you can jump back to that exact period and inspect it. A really cool thing that nobody else has.
Plus, checking past pages—you can see when content was uploaded to the site.
