I’ve already read that you need to be careful with the API, but here’s an example of a doorway site that was pushed this way, and its traffic is doing fine right now—it’s growing. So so far, I haven’t seen the API issues where people claim the site gets suppressed and stops growing.
On Feb 19, I uploaded the content and it immediately started bringing in traffic, and now it has really picked up steam.

However, this isn’t a new site and it already had traffic, which should probably also be taken into account.
I’ll keep monitoring. The API is still a good, fast method for me.
